Can The Awning Rail Be Installed At Less Than 3" Above The T-Molding?

Hi I want to purchase a topper for over my bedroom slide solera V000165062, I only have 2.75inch above the slide flange because of the roof, will this be ok? the instruction manual says 3inch min, thank you

I spoke with Lippert in regards to the Solera RV Slide-Out Awning # LCV000165062 that you're interested in, and they did go onto mention that yes you can install the awning rail at 2-3/4" however there may be a couple of issues to keep your eye out for.

Because you'd have it installed below the recommended 3"-6" margin, the awning will have an improper pitch and in turn can lead to water being drained off to the coach wall, as well as a potential for the awning fabric being rolled underneath the slide out.

So yes you can use # LCV000165062 at 2-3/4" however you need to be aware of the possible failures/dangers and what to look out for as well.
