Converter Needed for Side Clearance Lights of Trailer Lighting to be Turn Signals

Question:

I purchased Miro-Flex LED Trailer Side Marker Light and Mid-Ship Turn Signal # MCL48AB and Roadmaster Brite-Lite Wiring Converter # RM-732 as I did not want the mid-ship turn signals to activate during braking. I wired the Roadmaster Brite-Lite converter as follows. The Yellow and Green on the “To Towed Vehicle or Trailer” side of the converter to the trailer main wiring i.e. trailer plug Left/Right respectively. Then on the “To Motorhome or Towing Vehicle” side, White to trailer ground white, Yellow directly to Miro-Flex LED Left turn signal red , Green to the Miro-Flex LED Right Turn Signal red. The converter’s Red brake wire is not used. On the Miro-Flex LED mid-ship lights, White is ground, Black is wired directly to the trailer running lights not through Brite-Lite converter and Red is wired to the Yellow/Green “To Motorhome or Towing Vehicle” side of the converter. Wired this way, the Miro-Flex LEDs do not light up as either turn signals or brakes! Running lights work fine as they are not wired into the Brite-Lite converter. If I completely reverse the wiring, i.e. on the “To Motorhome or Towing Vehicle” side Yellow/Green/White to the trailer main wiring i.e. trailer plug. Then on the “To Towed Vehicle or Trailer” side, Yellow/Green directly to the Left/Right Miro-Flex LEDs. Wired this way - they activate as both turn signals and brakes. Which of course is not what I want. Request recommendations please. Thank you,

The issue is that the Roadmaster converter # RM-732 is designed for going the opposite direction that you are wanting. This is designed to take a separate system and combine the circuits and you are wanting to take a combined circuit and separate out the turn signals from the brake lights. So with your Miro-Flex LED Trailer Side Marker Light and Mid-Ship Turn Signal # MCL48AB the converter you would need is the Tow Ready Taillight Converter part # 118158.
