Should My Reese Sidewinder Pin Box Have A Slight Gap?

Question:

Just installed my sidewinder pin box. I noticed that there is a gap at the rear of the turret and pinbox mating surface. The front is tight together and the rear I can see daylight. Is this by design and will it cause any trouble down the road.

Thank you for the pictures!

The good news is that yes your Reese Sidewinder 5th Wheel King Pin with Rotating Turret # RP34FR should, and will always have a gap. This is designed intentionally, and is how the pin box will rotate. Without the gap, your pin box would not be able to rotate.

So, you are all good, and have nothing to worry about.

Attached is a product overview video for you to check out as well.
