How Does Draw Tite Hitch for 1986 Ford F-350 Install
Question:
looking at a hitch for an 1986 f350 dually. all these options appear to mount on TOP of the frame, vs in the factory location where the bolts go thru the side of the frame. perhaps your descriptions are a bit off or the photos of the hitches is off as there is no way I see any of these hitches actually mounting in this location due to the rear fuel tank being mounted in the exact same location. even if the tank were removed to install the hitch, youd likely have to remove the bed as well and for the hitches that mount inside the frame rails, the fuel tank would never go back in. and for the ones that seem to mount outside the frame rails, they would run into the rear shock hanger. do you simply not offer any hitches that mount to the sides of the frame like the factory bumper did?

Our hitches that fit your 1986 Ford F-350 like the Draw Tite # 41904 install by attaching to the bottom of the frame and not above it. This is a pretty standard way for a hitch to install and is not overly difficult or time consuming.
