Recommended Trailer Hitch For The Rear Of My Travel Trailer

Question:

Hello, I am looking at the Hollywood ebike Sport Rider SE rack for my Jeep Cherokee but am curious about my travel trailer. I know this rack is not recommended for a travel trailer but do you sell any kind of hitch that could be attached to the rear frame of the travel trailer? Thank you,

Yes, you can attach a hitch to the rear of your travel trailer. I recommend the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 72" Wide, part # 13703. It works with frames from 22" wide to 72" wide. It comes with hardware and it can be bolted to the frame or welded to the frame.

Once you have the trailer hitch installed, you can install your hitch bike rack. As you indicated in your question, the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount, part # HLY84FR, is not rated for use on a travel trailer. Most of our customer's who chose this hitch bike rack, do so because they have heavy e-bikes and this hitch bike rack has a maximum weight limit of 80 lbs. Unfortunately, we do not have a hitch bike rack rated for a travel trailer that can carry this type of weight. We do have the Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount, part # Y36FR, but it only has a 40 lbs per bike weight limit when on a RV.

I have included product description links, video review links, and a video of this trailer hitch being installed on a travel trailer below.
