Proper Venting of Everchill RV Mini Refrigerator

Question:

As I received an answer from Jon G. about leaving a 5 inch space behind the fridge I have another question. If the fridge is installed in an enclosed outside compartment on a camper, and there is less that 5 inch of clearance behind the fridge due to being able the close the compartment for traveling down the road, do I just need a vent for the compartment or does this vent need to be directly behind the fridge near the bottom of the fridge?

You'll want the vent to be directly behind and near the bottom of the fridge. The point of the 5" of space for the Everchill RV Mini Refrigerator # 324-000109 is so there is adequate airflow. If you were to add the vent to the compartment only then it wouldn't be much different than installing the fridge really close to the wall inside your camper - there wouldn't be enough airflow.

Without proper airflow you're going to make the motor work harder which will shorten the lifespan and could cause burnout.
