Spare Tire Bike Rack for 2009 Toyota Rav 4 Limited

Do you have to have an adapter for a womans bike on a rav4 2009? Also will the bike s move around since its a womans bike?

Is using an adapter like the # TH982XT absolutely necessary? Probably not, but the adapter is recommended because it allows the bike to be carried level, which will maximize ground clearance and keep the bike well away from the exhaust pipe.
Carrying the bike without using an adapter would mean that the bike is carried at an angle, but the vast majority of womens bikes should still be capable of being carried without moving around.
