What is Difference Between etrailer Brake Assemblies AKEBRK-35R-SA and AKEBRK-35R
Question:
What is the difference between the akebrk-35r and the akebrk-35r-sa brake plate assembly, trying to determine will one of these will work with the Dexter 8-147 hub , need to also know does the center hole of the brake plate measure 3 inches and are the studs 3 inches from center of the stud to center of on the four stud placement. Any help will be greatly appreciated , thank you

The difference is the etrailer brake assemblies # AKEBRK-35R are manual adjust brake assemblies whereas the part # AKEBRK-35R-SA are self adjusting. Self adjusting is the way to go as you never have to worry about adjusting the assemblies. You don't even really have to an initial adjustment either as they will continuously tighten until they are properly adjusted giving you one less thing to worry about.
Both of these are the correct fit behind the Dexter trailer hub 8-147 # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K.
