Yes, there are trim levels of the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse that can be flat towed. I recommend that you review your vehicle specific Owner's Manual to identify and familiarize yourself with the manufacturers recommendations of flat towing your vehicle. Please look under "Recreational Towing". The online version of the Owner's Manual I referenced has this information listed beginning on page 312.
There are five basic items needed to safely flat tow any vehicle. You will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, a wiring solution for your indicator lights and a supplemental braking system which is required by law.
For your 2021 Chevrolet Traverse, I recommend:
- Base Plate, Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit, # RM-523200-5
- Tow Bar, Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar w/ LED Lights, # RM-676 (This option comes with needed safety cables and integrated cable for indicator lights.)
- Wiring, Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit, # RM-154
- Braking, Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System, # BLU37TR along with Stop Light Switch Kit, # RM-751483 and the 12 Volt Outlet Kit, # RM-9332
You may or may not need a high/low adapter. Once the base plates are installed and the tow bar set, it should be at +/- 3" of level. This is to minimize excessive wear on front suspension components and tires. Please note the linked help article below to walk you through this process. I have also attached other articles that I hope you find valuable.
The OEM is the final authority of what they manufactured can and how it should be towed, so please review your vehicle specific Owner's Manual as stated above.
