Solution to Replace 8k Kodiak XL NevR Lube Hub Drums

Question:

I need to replace my Kodiak 13-inch integrated brake rotor and NevR Lube hub HRCM-133-8XL with a Dexter 008-402-91 NevR Lube hub and slip over rotor. Both the Kodiak and Dexter have 5/8-inch bolts. My question is about the offset or distance from the back side of the slip over rotor KR13858D to the face of the rotor where the wheel connects. Is it the offset or distance from the back of the KR13858D rotor to the face of the rotor the same distance as the Kodiak HRCM-133-8XL? Also, is there a size difference between the KR13858D and the K71-631-00? The K71-631-00 appears to be more offset.

Yes you can go the route you mentioned. You'd need to install an idler Dexter 8k Nev R Lube hub with part # 004-402-90 on your spindles and then you could use a slip on kit like the part # K2R89DDE and you'd be set.

With slip on and hub/replacement setups for trailer axles as long as you stick with the same manufacturer between the rotor and the caliper and caliper mounting bracket the offset will match and everything will work fine. They all are designed to match the standard hub face dimension too so that does not need to get factored.
