How To Test Functionality Of 7 Way Wiring
Question:
I have 7 wires coming from the harness. Red two greens, black blue yellow and brown. The heavier Guage wires are black blue and red. Im guessing black is ground, but there is no white wire. I cant seem to find any aux power with multimeter. All my fuses are good and it seems factory. I want to hook up a new 7 blade plug. Can you help?

When it comes to checking which wire is what you will need to use The Hook Probe Circuit Tester kit # PTW2993. This will let you know which wire should go where normally the black wire is for the 12 volt hot lead but using the circuit tester will give you the correct function of each color of wire. You can also trace the wires back to the lights/whatever to figure out what they do if they are not getting power. You also need to check the fuses you can likely have one or more blown. If multiple are blown you should check their trailer for shorts.
