Best Pin Box to Replace Lippert 1621HD for Short Bed Truck
Question:
New truck with short bed, old truck had long bed. I am looking to change to a rotating turret type pin box over the stock 1621HD on my 5th wheel instead of buying slider hitch.

For your short bed 2021 Ford F-150, I suggest you upgrade your 5th wheel's pin box to a 5th Airborne Premium 5th Wheel Air Ride King Pin w/ Sidewinder and Turret, # RP61422. The 5th Airborne Sidewinder replaces your fifth-wheel trailer's king pin and alters the pivot point of your rig, enabling you to make up to 90-degree turns. Enclosed air spring in pin box absorbs shock and adjusts for a smooth ride. This reduces longitudinal shock (chucking) by nearly 60 percent and decreases vertical shock by 44 percent.
The needed locking wedge is included that prevents king pin from rotating. Note that some 5th-wheel hitches may require custom wedge so please let us know what hitch you have.
