Can Snow Tire Chains be Used on the Front of a 2004 Toyota Tundra

Question:

I wanted to make sure that this chains would fit on the back of my tundra. The owners manuel said no chains on the front and doesnt specify what size can go on the rear. I was wondering if a s class chain would be able to go on the front.

If the owners manual says not to put chains on the front then I cannot recommend going against that. Chains are most effective on the main drive wheels and can hinder steering and braking on front wheels if you hit a patch of dry pavement. It looks like there are 3 possible factory tire sizes for your 2004 Toyota Tundra. I have included a link to the main page for your truck. Select your tire size from the list or enter it where indicated to see the chains that fit that tire size.

If your truck has 265/70-16 tires then Glacier chains # PWH2828SC will fit. I have linked a video review of these chains and linked our FAQ on tire chains.
