Solution for Light Up Hitch Cover that Shows Trailer Connected Error Code

This may have been answered, but my 2020 Explorer detects the hitch cover as a trailer when plugged in. Cross traffic notifications are turned off as a result. Is there something that can fix this?

You could unplug the wiring connector of the Ford Hitch Cover part # CR-007F and your 2020 Ford Explorer would stop thinking a trailer is connected but you would lose the light functions. Basically your vehicle thinks a trailer is connected any time the trailer wiring is plugged in.
