Do 5th Wheel Rails & Brackets on 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 Require Wheel/Tire Removal

Question:

brackets and rails for 2019 Chevy Silverado new body style. LTZ 4X4 to tow fifth wheel. I have been told the brackets I need are #56015 and Rails #30153. I am pretty good with tools and confident I can tackle this installation. Do I need to drop the wheels or can it be done with them in place just jack the the back of the truck up to give clearance? Also the wheel well liners and removing those, is that a pain or fairly simple? And Finally, I want to put the 7-pin connector in the box, opposite side of the 120 volt outlet. Does that come as plug and play where I can disconnect existing and plug in a T underneath the bed? Thank you in advance for the info!

While not necessary, removing the wheels/tires on your 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 can make the installation easier for 5th wheel brackets and rails that fit, such as the Reese Quick-Install Custom Outboard Installation Kit with Base Rails # RP56015-53, or the option I recommend, the B&W Custom Installation Kit with Base Rails # BWRVK2504.

Whenever possible, I recommend B&W parts due to their consistent levels of quality, which is why I do recommend going with the # BWRVK2504 over the Reese kit.

Then as far as the wheel well liners, you'll just need to remove three T15 Torx screws so that's really simple. Then for the wiring harness, there is an easy plug-in option; all you'll need is the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector # C56070.
