Troubleshooting An RV Air Conditioning System That Keeps Switching From Cool To Fan Mode

I bought a air conditioner last fall and started using it and it runs just a very short time Cooling and then it just switches to Fan mode would that be the thermostat or would that be the air conditioning ?

The Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Dometic Setup w/ Start Capacitor # ACDOM135 you purchased is just a replacement for the roof top unit of your AC system so the issue is most likely with the communication between the thermostat and the rooftop unit.

I recommend first checking the settings on your thermostat to ensure it's not just a simple error. Next I would unmount your thermostat and check the wiring to ensure there's no loose or corroded connections with your wiring.

If this does not fix your issue then it may be a sign that your thermostat is going out and needs to be replaced. You could potentially just replace it with the same exact thermostat and keep your current system in tact, if still available.

If not then you can replace the rest of your system (air distribution box & thermostat) with part # ACRG15.
