Fitment of the Hitch-It 2 # LC731138 to a 10" Straight Trailer Tongue

Question:

The straight tongue on my tear camper trailer is just 10 inches between A-frame portion and the hitch receiver. Is that enough space for this bike rack to fit and still have room to load the bikes plus hitch and un-hitch the car?

In order to determine if you have enough space between your tow vehicle and your tear camper when using the Hitch-It 2 # LC731138, I definitely have some specs to help you measure your available space.

Since you have 10 inches of available of straight frame length, you definitely can mount the rack and have access to hitch/unhitch the coupler. The additional thing we need to determine is if the total space you need with the rack and the bikes installed gives you enough room. I went ahead and attached a photo of all of the dimensions for the # LC731138. As you can see, the total length of the rack when mounted is 43" from the mount plate to the outer bike hook. It is also important to consider the length of your bike's handlebars into the measurement.

In order to be sure that you have enough clearance, I recommend measuring the distance between the end of your tow vehicle and the nose of your camper trailer. If you find that you do not have clearance when the rack is pointed toward the front, you can always point the longer part of the rack toward the camper.
