Platform Bike Rack Recommendation that Fits 1-1/4 and 2 inch Hitch Size

Question:

I have a Subaru Outback with a Class I - 1.25 hitch. Id like to get a new bike rack with a 2 connector to use on this and future cars RockyMounts Monorail. Question: Is it a bad idea/dangerous to use a 1.25 to 2 adapter to accommodate the 2 bike rack? If it is safe, which adapter do you suggest? Thanks for your help,

I have a great solution but I don't recommend using a 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch hitch adapter as the most ideal solution because they cut the hitch capacity by 50 percent and add quite a bit of movement. So for a similar bike rack that fits both hitch sizes without the use of an adapter like that I'd recommend the Kuat Transfer V2 part # KU74FR which has a built in adapter that can be installed to fit the 2 inch hitch size or removed to fit the 1-1/4 inch hitch size. It also only touches the bikes by the tire and is lighter in weight.
