Troubleshooting MORryde Step Above that Won't Allow Door to Close

Question:

When I tried to install my steps found out the door will not shut. The step sits up 1/4inch above the threshold. Is there a fix for this problem? Did I buy the wrong steps? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here are some tips we've gotten from MORryde in the past for your situation where the threshold won't let door shut.

Verify the distance from the threshold to the front of the StepAbove hinge plate it should be 15/16". There should also be 1/8" clearance between the inside lip on the door jamb and the outside edge of the step on each side.

Check to make sure when the steps are out the extension feet aren't out too far keeping the hinged plate across the threshold up. That could cause the door not to shut.

Additionally you may need to adjust the length of your steps using the adjustable ends. Make them shorter and the steps go down more allowing doors to properly close.

I did reach out to MORryde, and they mentioned that your door hinges may not be square with the door frame. To correct this you can pull up on the underside of the door to square the hinges and it should alleviate the rubbing.
