Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2006 Jeep Wrangler and a 2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder
Question:
Looking to buy tow accessories to pull a 2006 Jeep Rubicon or a 2005 Mitshubishi Eclipse spyder. Hoping to buy parts reusuable for each vehical that are not attached to the vehicle Looks like for the Jeep I need the 1424-1 Roadmaster XL base plate kit and RM-20 RoadMaster Tracker Tow Bar. But not sure which parts for the Eclipse. Can you give me the best option for doing this.

There are 5 components that you will need to flat tow a vehicle behind a motor home. You will need a base plate kit, a tow bar, tail light kit, safety cables and a supplemental braking system.
It looks like you will be better off towing your Jeep rather than the Eclipse. After doing some research on your vehicles, it appears that there are no base plate kits available for your Eclipse. Base plate kits are the only component that must be vehicle specific. I spoke with my contacts at Roadmaster and Blue Ox and they both told me that there simply has not been a large enough demand for a base plate for the 2005 Eclipse, so they did not make one.
It appears that the 2005 Eclipse is flat towable, but a base plate kit may have to be custom made by a custom fabrication shop since there are no base plate kits available. Blue Ox could not confirm if the kit for the 2003 Eclipse would fit the 2005 models. If you do choose to have a base plate kit made for your Eclipse, I recommend checking the owners manual for specific restrictions or procedures that must be followed to flat tow the vehicle. The same goes for your Jeep Wrangler.
We do carry base plate kits for your Wrangler. I recommend using the Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate Kit, # RM-521424-4. This kit is compatible with the Tracker Tow Bar, # RM-020, that you referenced and has removable arms for a hidden appearance when you are not towing. For safety cables, you can use part # RM-643.
For a tail light kit, I recommend using a magnetic light kit like part # RM-2120. These can be easily removed and used on any vehicle. I also recommend using a portable supplemental braking system like the Roadmaster Even Brake, # RM-9400. This can also be used between different vehicles.
I have attached a few help articles on flat towing for you to check out.
