Finding the Brake Switch Wire on a 2013 GMC Savana to Install a Trailer Brake Controller

2013 Gmc Savana. On the stop lamp switch, Which wire do I connect to the red wire from the break controller?

In order to find the correct brake switch wire, you are going to need to use a circuit tester, # PTW2993 if you need one, and test each wire. You will be looking for the one that only shows power when the brake pedal is pressed. If you think you have found it but it also shows power with the headlights or turn signals on it is not the correct wire. It is possible that it is a white wire you are looking for so I would start there.
Manufacturers can use any wire color they want. They try to keep it the same for a given year, make, and model, but if they happen to run out of that color, they will not stop the production line to wait to get more of that color, they will just use whatever color is nearby.
