Trailer Lights On Boat Trailer Not Working When Connected To OEM 7-Way
Question:
just bought a truck that was wired for a 5th wheel. I tested the OEM 7 blade outlet on the bumper and the 5th wheel in the bed. Both read 12V. Problem is I pull a boat and not getting lights on my boat trailer. Is there an adapter I need to buy - 12V to standard? or do I need to rewire? thank you!

Since you mention that you're getting 12v power at the vehicle connector, then the issue is likely with the trailer.
What you're going to want to do is, make sure the wiring for your trailer is in good working order, and also that your grounds are on a clean bare metal surface.
Additionally, if you notice any signs of corrosion on the connector, you'll want to clean the connector out and apply some dielectric grease # 11755.
