Reason My Excel Tankless Water Heater Keeps Shutting Off After About 5 Minutes

I have my excell ventless 1.6 gpm tankless water heater mounted under my kitchen sink in my rv, it is about 5 months old, originally I had no issues with the unit, not it shuts the flame off after about 5 minutes of use. Where can I find I formation how to fix this issue

I would check your ventilation around your water heater. One of the reasons your Excel RV Tankless Water Heater - Gas - Electric Ignition - Vent Free - 38,000 Btu, part # EX93FR, may be shutting of after about 5 minutes of use is the Oxygen Detection Safety (ODS) detects low levels of oxygen. If this happens, the ODS system extinguishes the flame. The loss of the flame cools the system, causing the gas valve to return to the closed position, shutting off the fuel supply. This system will not operate unless there are normal levels of oxygen in the atmosphere, about 20%. The ODS system considers low levels of oxygen at 17% to 18%. If this is the reason, more ventilation is needed and a manual restart s required. It is recommended you install this item approximately 5' above the floor.
