Should I Use the TorkLift StableLoads or Air Bag System on a 2022 Ford F-350 with In-Bed Camper?
Question:
I came here looking for air bags for my 2022 F350, but was intrigued when I saw these. I have an Arctic Fox 992 that’s probably around 4500-5000 lbs loaded/wet. Thing is, it’s already sitting on the overloads… at that I’m wondering does it make any difference to use these, or are airbags better for my application? I would like to be a little more level and have less sway. I don’t think this would change the sway at all since I already have the overloads helping in the current situation. Thanks!

There are a couple things to consider between using the Torklift StableLoad # TLA7200 and air bags on your 2022 Ford F-350 Super Duty when transporting your in-bed camper. If you are just looking to decrease sway, the Torklift StableLoad # TLA7200 is a simple way to accomplish this when hauling your camper. The advantage of this route is that once you install the StableLoads, it doesn't require additional maintenance and upkeep like air bags.
However, you will not get the customization and overall increased control that you receive from air bags. Since you inputted a 4-wheel drive option into our fitguide, I assume that is what you have on your 2022 Ford F-350. I recommend going with either the AirLift LoadLifter 5000 # AL76KV (for dually models) or the # AL23FJ (for single rear wheel models). With the LoadLifter 5000, they not only come with 5,000 pounds of load-leveling capacity, they also come with the ability to inflate the air bags to your desired firmness with the camper loaded. This gives you greater overall control than the StableLoads. Also, with the air bags, they activate instantly on your suspension. The benefits of the air bags are more comprehensive than the benefits you receive from the StableLoads.
To add even more customization to the air bags, I recommend a compressor system like the # AL25856 or the wireless # AL58WQ. Since both of these compressors are dual-path models, you can inflate the air bags independently from the comfort from your cab. In addition to the Bluetooth capability of the # AL58WQ, it provides you with constant advanced diagnostic alerts to let you know that the air bags are working safely and efficiently.
