Relay's Needed and Location for a 2007 Nissan Frontier w/ Towing Package
Question:
I have a 2007 Nissan Frontier that came with the tow package, so, I ordered a Tekonsha brake box a while back and just now getting time to install it. After installing the box and the plugin under my dash it will not do anything, just wondering even though my 07 Nissan Nismo came with the tow package would I still need the plug and relay harness for the passenger side panel?

You will need relays to activate the tow package in your 2007 Nissan Frontier. In a cost saving effort Nissan decided not to include the needed relays in their vehicles. On your 2007 Frontier, there should be a relay and there should be a fuse for the 12 volt power circuit on the factory installed 7-Way. Since you have the factory tow package, you will want to look under the hood. The first thing I'd check is that the brown relay is fully pushed into the socket of the fuse block between the battery and the firewall as shown in the provided photo. If the relay is fully seated, then check the main fuse panel under the hood, the underside of the lid should have a legend on it that lists the fuse locations and what circuits each protects. Look for a location listed as 'trailer tow' or 'trailer 12V', which should be a 20-40 amp fuse. Make sure a fuse is installed in that location.
The brown relay activates the 12-volt accessory circuit feeding power to your 7-way, and the blue relays activate the right and left turn signal/brake light circuits. If these are not present or you are missing a fuse that is most likely why your Tekonsha brake controller is not working.
If you do not have the relays you will want the Curt Relay Kit for Nissan Aftermarket Tow Package item # C57000.
The only way you would need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness item # 118525 is if your Frontier does NOT have the factory tow package. These relays would install next to the right side of the passenger's seat next to the door.
