The etrailer J-Style Kayak Carrier part # e98878 is an excellent option for a 2017 Honda CR-V and what I recommend using. It will work great with the factory roof rack and the uprights can be folded down while not in use for a more low profile design and compact storage. The carrier also comes with all needed tie-downs.
