Troubleshooting Short Code with Redarc Liberty Manual Override on 2022 Ram 1500
Question:
I installed a Redarc Liberty brake controller which seems like it’s working OK in proportional mode but in manual mode it starts giving me a brake output shorted code. It does apply the manual brakes but seems erratic. All the documentation claims compatibility with the current model and I just wanted to be sure that includes my 2022 Ram 1500 ECODiesel, Longhorn. Thanks

Yes, the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR is compatible with your 2022 Ram 1500 and should plug right in using the Adapter # 331-TPH-020.
It sounds like you may have a bad wiring connection or short somewhere on your brake controller circuit. It's a little unusual since you have a brand new truck so I would start with your trailer wiring and 7-Way connector. What I can see happening is the higher amperage of the manual override pushing that bad connection/short over the edge which is why it works just fine for normal use.
If feel comfortable checking all your wiring and grounds that's where I'd start. Otherwise you'll want to get a shop or dealer to look at your wiring to make sure everything is on the up and up.
