For an outstanding rack for your 45-pound e-bikes with standard tires on your 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross XLE, I recommend the Swagman Chinook Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # S64683. This rack has the 45-pound weight capacity you need. As far as compatibility, it fits bikes with wheelbases up to 50" measured axle to axle and wheel diameters from 20" to 29" around. It also comes loaded with locks that offers theft-deterrence of the rack and your bikes. For better access to your trunk, the rack tilts with bikes loaded to give you the access you need. Since the shank of the Chinook measures 6 inches from the center of the pinhole to the closest part of the rack, I recommend measuring the center of your hitch's pinhole to the outside face of your rear bumper. As long as that length is less than 6 inches long, you are good to go!

If your electric bikes happen to be women's-style bikes, step through bikes, or children's bikes, you need to purchase a bike frame adapter bar # 64005 for each of those bikes. The adapter provides you with a straight, horizontal plane that is required to attach the bikes to the hooks of the Chinook. I went ahead and attached a video that shows how the bar works.
