Troubleshooting Wire Placement On A 7-Way Molded Connector
Question:
I have looked at a number of 7-way molded connector brands and virtually all reviews indicate that the color coding of the wiring doesnt match their trailer wiring colors -for example, right turn light is not green or left turn is not yellow. Are there any molded connectors with wire where the colors match? I understand the workaround is matching pin number to function and disregard the wire coloring - would just like to know if there is a product where this doesnt have to be done.

When it comes to getting a plug that has the same functions is very uncommon. Each trailer wiring is wired different and each wire has a different function. I recommend The Hook Probe Circuit Tester # PTW2993.
The kit will be able to test every function on your trailer so you can match the wires to the correct spots.
