What Info Is Needed to Pick Out Replacement Hub Drum for Trailer
Question:
I am looking for a replacement hub and bearings and seals for my boat trailer. I keep having bearing failure on one side even though I only use the trailer a few times a year. How do I go about finding the right one?

There are a few ways to determine what the correct replacement hub would be for your boat trailer. The first piece of info needed is your wheel bolt pattern. Then to determine the correct fit for the spindle we can do that based on the axle capacity that is listed on the axle, the diameter of the axle, the spindle dimensions where the bearings ride, or with the bearing numbers that are in the hub currently.
Probably the most popular replacement hub/drum we have is the part # AKHD-545-35-K which fits the 3,500 lb trailer axle. This axle capacity would have a 2-3/8 inch diameter, the bearing numbers are L68149 and # L44649, the spindle dimensions where bearings ride are 1.378 and 1.06 inch and the wheel bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2 inch. This comes with new bearings and a seal.
