We will first need to determine what pin box is installed so as to make the best replacement recommendation. There are a few ways that we can approach doin this for your 2008 Keystone Cougar. The simplest and most straight forward is to look for identifying markings from the manufacturer, usually a sticker is placed on the left side of pin box with the manufacturers name and the model number.
If the sticker or it is not legible or missing altogether, then you can contact the trailer manufacturer directly to inquire what OEM pin box was installed by providing the VIN.
The third option, to determine pin box type is by measuring. I've attached an FAQ article on measuring your pin box as well as a photo showing the measurements you will want to take. Based on the various measurements, we can determine which pin box you have and which replacement air ride pin box will work for you.
Some very common pin box numbers are Lippert's 1621, 1716, and 1116 pin boxes. For these options you will want to select:
- 1716 or 1116, The 16,000 lb. rated 5th Airborne Premium 5th Wheel Air Ride King Pin w/ Sidewinder and Turret. # RP61412
- 1621, 5th Airborne Premium 5th Wheel Air Ride King Pin w/ Sidewinder and Turret rated for16,000 lbs. # RP61422
