Recommended Portable Solar Panel System for Transcend Travel Trailer with OEM Installed Roof Panels

Question:

Hi, we have a 2020 Transcend with roof mounted Furrion solar panel and inverter box. We park the camper in a shed and camp there frequently. We need a solar panel that is portable or can be mounted to the shed to allow us to boondocks without pulling camper out of building. What are our options for solar panels that will hook into the system? Also, do the panel have to be connected on the roof or is there a way for me to plug directly into the inverter from the ground?

I suggest you leave your roof system in place just as it is and use the above for placing outside the shed. When the RV is out in the open and the roof mounted system in play, you can still use the portable system in conjunction with roof mounted system as each operates from its own controller. This means when you travel, you can still park in the shade and use the roof mounted system, but with low performance because of shade, and still deploy the portable in direct sunlight and adjust angle as needed.
