Recommended Weight Distribution System For A 2010 Lincoln Navigator
Question:
I have a 2010 Lincoln Navigator. I would like to purchase a 27ft tritoon boat. My question is when I go to launch this boat will my front end of the Navigator pop up? Packaged weight of the trailer and boat is ~5800 lbs. I have the optional heavy duty tow package installed. Please advise on the ball I should get for the tow.

When it comes to using a weight distribution system on your 2010 Lincoln Navigator The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Trunnion - 8,000 pounds GTW, 800 pounds TW # FA92-00-0800 will be the system that you will need. Using the Fastway e2 will not cause the Navigator to pop up if you're under the towing capacity limitations for your vehicle, even though you have the heavy duty tow package doesn't mean the vehicle can actually handle it.
When using a weight distribution system you need to be as close as possible to the weight of the trailer. The # RP66084 is for a 12,000 pound trailer and that would not be safe and would cause more sway then not having one at all.
The Fastway e2 system has a gross towing weight of 8,000 pounds, and has a gross tongue weight between 400-800 pounds. This system allows backing up. Everything is included with the system except The Hitch Ball # 63840.
