Replacement For Atwood Drum Surge Brake Actuator

Question:

Replacement for Atwood 85736. As I understand this is no longer available, can you confirm what the equivalent replacement bolt on surge brake assembly would be

You are correct that the Atwood 85736 master cylinder cannot be replaced so you would need a new actuator, and the closest replacement for a drum brake actuator is from Demco:

- Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator - Drum - Zinc - 2" Ball - 7,000 lbs # DM72VR

The # DM72VR bolts onto a 3" wide trailer tongue, and you'll simply need 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" Grade-5 bolts to do so. It accepts a 2" hitch ball, has a 7,000 lb capacity and is super easy to use. You just have to drop the coupler over your 2" hitch ball and it latches automatically.
