According to my contact at CTEK batteries need time to settle after use and charging before their voltage can be read accurately.
To accurately test the status of the battery connected to the CTEK Battery-Health Indicator Cable, part # CTEK56382, the battery needs to have been at rest for at least one hour. This means that it should not have been used, charged, nor the host vehicle containing it operated for at least this one hour.
The three different LED lights on this tester are intended illuminate at various voltage levels. The green LED will illuminate when battery voltage is at least 12.7 volts. The yellow LED will light when voltage is between 12.4 and 12.7 volts. The red LED will light when voltage is below 12.4 volts. It is possible that if the battery voltage is at one of the transitional levels, around or just below 12.7 volts, more than one LED may illuminate briefly.
