Trailer Hitch for Grand Design Transcend MK200

Question:

I am looking at this hitch receiver - the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22inch to 66inch Wide. The MK200 bumper is welded to two tubes that are welded to the frame. Will this hitch receiver work if I mount it to the two tubes? It is a lippert frame.

The Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 66" Wide, # C13704 is designed to be bolted or welded to the vehicle frame. My recommendation is to check with your RV's manufacturer if this type of installation can be safely and securely attached at the point you described. When properly installed, the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver, # C13704 provides a Class III, 2" x 2" receiver opening with a maximum gross trailer weight rating of 5,000 lbs. and a 500 lb. tongue weight rating. If you are installing this hitch because you require that weight rating then I encourage you to inquire with the RV's manufacturer for needed information.

However, if you are wanting to add a receiver hitch for purpose of adding an accessory such as cargo carrier or bike rack, please consider the Ultra-Fab 2" Motor Home Trailer Hitch Receiver for 4" x 4" Bumpers, # UF35-946402 as an option. This steel receiver clamps around your RV's 4" square bumper to provide a 2" x 2" trailer hitch receiver opening rated at 3,500 lbs. max gross trailer weight and a tongue weight of 350 lbs.

Please let me know what follow-up questions you have. If your RV bumper is not the most common 4" x 4" but different measurement, let me know as we have other options for clamp-on mounts. But the Ultra-Fab, # UF35-946402 is the best option for 4" x 4" bumpers.
