How to Investigate Break Away Disconnect Issue on the Blue Ox Patriot 1
Question:
My disconnect circuit doesnt register when starting system during boot up. I have checked continuity with a DVM and wiring check out as correct when manually pulling the nylon plug out. I even pulled front display panel and check continuity again, to circuit board.. recieves disconnect signal. The boot up doesn't acknowledge the "Break Away" when plugged in. How deep do I need to go on the Mother Board to discover issue?? This is for the Blue Ox Patriot 1 model. See attached image.

I'm sorry to hear about your issue!
With your Blue Ox Patriot 1 supplemental braking system, we cannot confirm for sure how deep the issue with the trailer brakeaway disconnect lies on the motherboard. However, given the age and the condition of your system, the issue most likely requires an upgrade or replacement.
For a great upgraded system with fresh new components, I recommend the newer Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR. This model comes with a remote control and an upgraded LED display for easy reading.
