Is The Advent Air Replacement AC Unit For Dometic A Plug-And-Play Installation
Question:
My present Dometic A/C is 15,000 BTU and is fully ducted with no opening on the inside of my 5th wheel. is the ACM150 a fully plug and play unit. My thermostat only has a speed. Will I need to replace my thermostat which also controls my furnace? Is the start capacity installed on this unit? Any thoughts on how to get this heavy unit on top of my RV?

The Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Dometic Setup w/ Start Capacitor # ACDOM150 comes with a wiring harness adapter to make installation a simply plug-and-play with your current Dometic system. Since this unit is designed to simply replace the rooftop condenser unit and reuse the other components of your current system you will be able to retain use of your thermostat.
This unit does also come with a start capacitor # ACMSCKIT, but I believe it is packaged separately so you would have to install it yourself. I've attached a video below where Dave will walk you through installing this component to help.
As for getting it on the roof, the unit has a shipping weight of only 81lbs so you and a friend could most likely muscle it up there with a couple of ladders.
