Why Are Only Some Of My LEDs Lighting Up On My Interior Lights?

Question:

I have these exact lights in a 2018 Heartland travel trailer that I bought this weekend and upon getting the trailer home I noticed that the lights were not all the same brightness. I removed all of the covers to find that there are 4 sets of 3 led’s in each lamp and not one lamp has all 12 lit up but all have either 1,2 or 3 sets of led’s not working. Voltage on all is around 12.6v which is good. I read that the led strip cannot be bought separately which sucks as buying the entire lamp 8 is expensive but I doubt that these lamps have gone through 50,000 hours in this trailer. Is there any other reason that these led’s may have burnt out as I don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars to have lights fail in short order. Thank you so much for any help you may offer.

Sorry to hear your Gustafson RV LED Dome Light w/ Button # 277-000492 aren't working properly!

Since the LED strip in # 277-000492 is permanent to the unit, the only way to get a new LED strip is to purchase an entire assembly, unfortunately.

But, before you do that, if you haven't already I recommend checking your ground connections for these lights as this is the most common reason LEDs don't function as intended.

I know it's not ideal, but if you've verified that all of your lights are correctly grounded, and are getting the appropriate voltage, the only other way to solve the issue is to replace the unit altogether.
