How to Select a Travel Trailer Cover for a 2013 Tracer by Forest River Model #245BHS

Question:

We were told by our local rv dealer that to fit the trailer for a cover, we should take the measurement from the back of the rear bumper to the inside of the propane tanks for the correct measurement. We also have two vented areas and an air conditioner unit on the roof. The measurement we came up with was 23foot 8inch from the rear bumper to the inside of the propane tank unit cover. Would we need to order a 24foot rv cover or would we need a bigger one?

Your dealer has you going in the right direction. With a measurement of 23 feet 8 inches from the rear bumper to the back of the propane tank cover you should select a cover with dimensions that your RV falls into.

The PolyPro III Deluxe Travel Trailer Cover for 22- 24 foot trailers, # 052963733631, would be a good fit. With your measurement coming in just below 24 feet this cover should fit nicely and there should not be a lot of extra material once installed. The 102 inch width of the cover will most likely be a bit wider that your RV which will allow extra room for the air conditioning unit and vents on the roof, while allowing the cover to drape properly on the sides.

I attached a link to all of the travel trailer covers for you to review, but the one you selected will be the best fit for your trailer. A larger cover would have extra material to blow around in the wind which would stress the fabric and reduce the life of the cover.
