2020 Toyota RAV4 Backup Alert System Activates with Bike Rack Installed

2020 rav 4 limited.when putting car or in reverse ,dashboard shows flashing red light and suv goes into braking mode

When using a rear-mounted bike rack like the Thule Spare Me # TH963PRO (or a hitch or trunk mount for that matter) on a newer vehicle with that proximity alert, like what you have on your 2020 Toyota RAV4, you'll need to disable that feature on your vehicle to avoid that whole alert system and braking mode. This is a safety feature to keep you from running into something while you're backing up but since you have a rack and bikes at the back of your vehicle the sensors pick it up and cause your vehicle to think someone or something is back there.
You should be able to find the instructions on how to disable this feature in your owner's manual.
