Upgrading from 4.80/4.00-8 Tires On Boat Trailer

Question:

Hi, I have a boat trailer for my 14 aluminum v boat and Im looking to put bigger tires on it. It currently has 4.80x8 tires on it on five lug wheels. Looking at the parts, I believe I need to purchase a different leaf spring set up to accommodate the bigger wheels. Can you possibly put together a parts list of what Id need to get a 14 tire on the boat please. I have pictures of the trailer and wheel set up I can send you if needed. Thank you!

I do have options for you but in order to upgrade tire sizes you'll need to know how much space you have available. You'll need to measure from the top of the tire to the bottom of the fender and then from the inside of the frame to the tire. We recommend at least 3" on top and 1" on the side. The Karrier ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire with 14" Galvanized Wheel part # AM32156 for example measures 26.3" diameter x 8.1" wide. It uses a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. If you can let me know how much space you have I can see if we have any better options for you otherwise you can choose from the list below.

In regards to new leaf springs, this won't allow you to fit a larger tire but we can still get you setup with some options for this if you can provide the dimensions and capacity.
