Should I Install Separate Air Fittings for Air Bags on a 1999 Chevy Tahoe?
Question:
Hi: I have a 1999 Chevy Tahoe with the towing package. I am thinking about adding helper springs, but have a question. Should I install two air fittings i.e. one for each air bag or is one fitting sufficient that tees to both air bags? I am only planning on towing, but am hear that having one fitting can load one side more than the other during turning causing the truck to be unbalanced. This unbalancefoot between sides can make it easier for the truck to tip. Is that really a concern? Thanks,

The Air Lift Ride Control Air Helper Springs item # AL59518 for your 1999 Chevy Tahoe should definitely be aired up separately. You should install two air fittings to allow you to fill the bags up with a different level of PSI if needed. Filling them up at the same PSI won't allow you to compensate for an uneven load like a heavy slide out on one side of your trailer. Even though the bags are filled up to the same PSI this uneven weight would cause you to be unbalanced.
I also recommend adding the Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System item # AL74000EZ. Air Lift's premium, wireless, onboard compressor system with Bluetooth allows you to fill your air springs at the touch of a button. The WirelessAIR also automatically maintains pre-set air pressure levels. It lets you adjust 2 air springs independently with the wireless remote control. This allows you to get side-to-side leveling of off-center loads by inflating each spring with a different amount of air.
