Question:
With the belt fully retracted, what is the length of the item S-hook to S-hook?

I pulled one of these from our warehouse and measured the length when the straps are fully retracted. They measure 12-3/4 inches from the end of one s-hook to the end of the other s-hook. If space is a concern the strap can be folded, putting the s-hooks under the ratchet. The measurement with the s-hooks folded under the ratchet is approximately 5-1/2 inches. This retractable ratchet has a working load limit (WLL) of 500 lbs.
If you will be working with a load greater than 500 lbs, I would recommend the Erickson Retractable, Ratcheting Tie-Down Straps, part # EM34416. These straps measure 2 inches wide and are 10 ft long, and have a working load limit of 1100 lbs.
