Best Hitch and Towing Set Up for a 2017 Cadillac XT5
Question:
I just got a 2017 Cadillac XT5 and I am looking for a trailer hitch and everything else I would need to tow a small trailer.

The hitch I recommend for your 2017 Cadillac XT5 is the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver item # e62AR. The crosstube is concealed behind your rear bumper with only the receiver tube showing. I have linked an installation video below so you can see the installation property and what the final product will look like.
You will also need the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness item # 118720 for a 4-flat or the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness item # 118276 for a 7-way. These are both plug and play wiring harnesses that do not require any cutting or splicing of wires.
To round out your towing setup I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches item # C45534. This towing kit will provide you with a 2" ball and a fixed ball mount with a 3/4" rise and 2" drop. It also includes a hitch pin and clip, hitch receiver lock with keys, hitch cover, and a storage case.
If you are towing a trailer with brakes and need a brake controller you will want the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller item # 90195.
