Troubleshooting An S.H Error Code On A Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller
Question:
I get an S H error code on my prodigy break controller each morning. It goes away after a couple of miles. Have cleaned the plug and checked that the wires are making good contact inside the plug and at the vehicle. Cleaned ground cramped on new terminal. Have inspected wires all the way back to the brakes at each four wheel. Could be contactors inside the brakes at the wheel have corrosion and need to be cleaned?

Your Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885 thinks there's a short somewhere in the wiring. My first recommendation is to check the ground, as this is usually the cause of nearly all wiring issues. Ensure that you have a proper ground (i.e touching bare metal).
Next would be to check all the connections to ensure there isn't any loose wires that could potentially be touching and pulling apart and then touching again, giving you the "S.H" error code. I recommend using some heat shrink butt connectors like # DW05744-10 to ensure a waterproof connection.
If this does not solve your issues then please reply back and we can keep troubleshooting.
