Wiring Needed to Install the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR on a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500
Question:
I want to buy the Liberty Brake Controller and also will need the pig tail with it to hook it up. Can you help me with which one I need? My truck is a 2012 Dodge 1500 big cab 2 wheel drive. Thanks

Before you install the Redarc Liberty # RED24FR on your 2012 Dodge Ram 1500, you need to have both a 4-way harness and a 7-way harness installed on the truck already. If you need those components, I recommend the 4-pole Hardware Kit # 18252 for the 4-way and the Universal Installation Kit for Brake Controllers # ETBC7 for the 7-way. Both of these harnesses are splice-in style harnesses that you can install into your current wiring.
If you are asking specifically about a plug-in connector to use the Liberty on your 1500, that is the Universal Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers # RED69FR. This harness is designed specifically for vehicles without a factory tow package. The plug itself installs into the brake controller and the other end splices into your 1500's wiring.
