Recommended 16 x 6 Wheel for Wood Chipper

Question:

Hello, Just trying to verify I’m buying the right rims. They’re for a Vermeer wood chipper, 7500 GVWR, 6800 GAWR, 265/75/16 tires. I believe the bolt pattern is 8 on 6.5”, little or no offset. Below are the options I have in my cart, but open to other suggestions, I am leaning toward the middle option but let me know. Vesper Steel Modular Trailer Wheel - 16 x 6 - 8 on 6-1/2 - Silver - MX59FR Dexstar Steel Mod Trailer Wheel w/+0.5 Offset - 16 x 6 Rim - 8 on 6-1/2 - Silver Sparkle - AM20797 Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel - 16 x 6 Rim - 8 on 6-1/2 - Silver Powder Coat - AM20794 Thanks

Since you believe your wheel has a zero offset (mounting pad of wheel is equidistant along width of rim) I wouldn't recommend going with the # AM20797 wheel with the positive offset as it will move the wheel 1/2 inch closer to the trailer frame.

Both the # MX59FR Maxion Vesper and Dexstar # AM20794 have a zero offset, both have an 8 on 6-1/2 inch pilot bolt pattern and the same pilot diameter. If I had to choose between the two, I'd go with the # MX59FR, because of its higher 4460 lb capacity versus the 3960 lb capacity of the Dexstar and because its acrylic enamel finish will be more durable over time than the powder coat finish used on the Dexstar # AM20794 wheel.
