Hi there, Im looking to cross a part number to something you might carry. I have a Putnam 81212 hitch on an RV I am looking to replace. Thanks for your help,

I have a great alternative option for you. While we do not carry a Putnam hitch 81212, we do have universal hitches that are compatible with RVs. For that route, I recommend the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 66" Wide # C13704. Not only does this hitch provide you with 500 pounds of maximum tongue weight capacity and 5,000 pounds of maximum gross towing capacity, it also comes with a superior gloss outer coat over the base powder coat that provides better resistance to rust and corrosion than our other brands. The hitch comes with adjustable brackets that are compatible with trailer frames that measure between 22-66 inches wide. In order to make sure that this hitch is compatible, I recommend measuring your trailer's frame from left to right to make sure it fits within these parameters.

If you do not want to go through the welding or bolting process, you can always go with the easier route of a bumper-mounted hitch. For this application, I recommend the Buyers Products RV Universal Receiver Hitch # 3371804060. This hitch provides you with 350 pounds of maximum tongue weight and 3,500 pounds of gross trailer capacity. It is compatible with standard square trailer bumpers that measure 4" x 4". I recommend making sure you have these bumper dimensions before choosing this route.
