It sounds like you have a Class I or II hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver on your vehicle. The only option is to use the Hitch Adapter 1-1/4" to 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver with 5" Rise # HT5R. This has a 5" rise to give your Yakima bike rack additional ground clearance.
Keep in mind, the use of this adapter will reduce the capacity of your hitch by 50%. You will need to make sure your bikes and bike rack do not exceed the decreased capacity. Since your bike rack is designed to fit a 1-1/4" receiver, you will also need the Hitch Reducer 2" to 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver # HT02 so it will fit in the adapter.
I have attached some review videos for your reference.
